This very bag was carried by Phoebe Philo herself in the tan natural leather shown in the lookbook. Blues became a signature color at Céline, with Yves Klein Blue referenced in many collections. This only adds to the rarity and special nature of this bag.
This color wasn’t commercially produced. It’s a factory sample only sold to Céline employees, demonstrated by the “F” stamp inside.
The cabas tote is among the most classic of Céline bag archetypes. In a pamphlet advertising the original Céline Vertical Cabas tote, the brand remarked:
“CELINE CABAS: The template of this design is cut to eliminate all inessentials except for pure line and beautiful materials.
Combining the satisfying simplicity of a paper shopper with the sophisticatios of Parisian quality, the tactile luxury of this collection extends to many subtle variations, all of them designed as long distance, very personal classics.

CONDITION
Very good condition. Some marks on the outside and inside.
NOTE: This is "natural leather" —the thickest and most luxurious leather used by Céline— there are also some unique “waves”, or veining, in the hide that add to patina of the bag.
