Frequently Asked Questions

How do I dispense boiling water?
Tempo boiling taps feature a built-in child-safety function. To activate boiling water, press and twist the handle — this two-step design prevents accidental operation while keeping control smooth and effortless.

What temperature is the boiling water?
The boiler tank can be adjusted between 75°C and 98°C. Most users prefer the maximum setting for tea, coffee, and cooking, but you can lower it to suit your needs or energy preferences.

Is the spout safe to touch when dispensing?
Yes. The spout is insulated to remain cool to the touch during use, helping to prevent accidental burns.

Why is my tap spitting or spluttering?
This can happen if air becomes trapped in the system or if the water temperature is set too high. Try lowering the temperature slightly and running the tap for a few seconds to clear any air pockets.

Why is the flow weak or slower on the boiling function?
This is completely normal. The boiling water function is designed with a reduced flow rate for safety, ensuring that hot water is dispensed in a controlled and splash-free way.
If the flow appears unusually weak, check that the boiler tank is switched on and the filter is correctly installed — but rest assured, the slower flow is part of the safety design.

How often should I change the filter?
We recommend replacing the carbon filter every six months to maintain clean, fresh water and protect the tank from limescale buildup.
It’s also important to keep a record of each filter change, as this helps maintain your product warranty and ensures the system continues to perform at its best.

How do I change the filter?

  1. Turn off the water supply and unplug the boiler tank.

  2. Twist the old filter cartridge to remove it.

  3. Fit the new cartridge in place.

  4. Reconnect the water and power, then run the tap for a few minutes to flush through.

What are the installation requirements?
Tempo boiling taps are supplied complete with the boiler tank, filter, and fittings. The boiler should be positioned in the base cabinet beneath the sink and connected to a standard 13-amp plug socket within 1.4 metres. A minimum water pressure of 1 bar is required.

How do I descale the tap and tank?
In hard-water areas, limescale can build up over time. Use a manufacturer-approved descaling solution or a mix of water and white vinegar (with the power disconnected) to gently clean the tank and internal components.

How do I clean the tap?
Wipe with a soft cloth and mild soapy water. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as these can damage the finish.

The tap isn’t producing boiling water — what should I check?
Ensure the boiler tank is switched on and filled. Check for any kinks in the supply hose or signs of a blocked filter. Reset the tank if necessary following the user guide.

Is the tank included with the tap?
Yes. Every Tempo boiling tap comes complete with the tank and filter — all conveniently packaged together in one box for easy installation.

What is the warranty period?
All Tempo boiling taps include a two-year manufacturer’s warranty. Regular filter changes and proper maintenance will ensure continued coverage.
