Studio Art Pottery Plate Deep Brown Heavy Rim Glaze & Light Glaze Texture Center.
A bit primitive, a bit modern. This piece of studio art pottery is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or breaks.
It measures approximately 10.25" across.
The rim of the plate is a heavy dark brown glaze with the center mostly raw in texture with a bit of cream and lighter brown coloring. Where the rim has a smoother texture, the center has a mildly rough texture of unglazed clay.
This would be a nice decorative plate or would look fantastic for use as a serving plate for scones and crusty sliced breads. I cannot find the artists signature, but the provenance is that this plate was made by a potter at the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, VA in the mid-late 1990s.
The stand is not included.
