A superb late 19th-century oil painting on canvas depicting a most rare Native American dance scene. The theme, technique, and color palette evoke one of the most celebrated American Impressionist painters, Winslow Homer. This work is unsigned, and the stamp of a Parisian paint merchant from the same period can be seen on the back of the canvas.
