What it is:
The new Peters Hybrid Bass was first dreamed up as a concept several years ago. Since it has been turning over in my mind constantly being tweaked and revised until finally this summer it was finally brought to life. The idea behind the hybrid bass was to make an instrument that could mimic, or at least closely approximate, the tones and qualities of an upright bass in the std format of a typical electric bass guitar. Several factors contribute to the upright tone this instrument is able to produce, string geometry, a fretless neck, a wooden bridge, piezo pickups, and a short scale. All these things work together to make an instrument that can very closely emulate an upright bass in a package that is much more friendly to those who play E-bass.
