Billed as "The Show of Shows!" at Market Square Arena in Indianapolis, Indiana, this killer double bill of Kiss (on the heels of Love Gun and Alive II) and Bon Scott-fronted AC/DC (touring behind Let There Be Rock) jumps out to you. Playing on a Sunday in mid-December for less than $10 a head, this was Kiss at their biggest. You wanted the best, and you got the best. Playing to an estimated 18,000-plus on this night, Gene, Paul, Ace, and Peter were no longer a live favorite that were light on sales. Now they were a band that sold millions of records nationwide and thousands of concert tickets in every town.
As openers, AC/DC were no strangers to the public. As a band that stuck to its blues-inspired hard rock, they were proud to be in their lane. (They would stay that for decades.)
