Campbell “66” Express 1926 Vintage Men's T-Shirt

Design Description Campbell “66” Express was founded by Franklin Campbell in Springfield, Missouri, in 1926 as Campbell Fuel and Transfer. The company shifted into trucking in 1933 when a local banker asked Campbell to take over the struggling Rapid “66” Express, which operated between Springfield and St. Louis along Route 66. Campbell accepted, merging the operations under the new name Campbell “66” Express. The company became well known across the Midwest for its quirky branding, including a camel mascot named Snortin’ Norton and the slogan “Humpin’ to Please.” Following trucking deregulation in 1980, the business began to decline, ultimately filing for bankruptcy in 1986. At its peak, Campbell “66” Express operated 42 terminals across 13 states and employed around 1,300 people. We recommend taking one of your current t-shirts, laying it flat and measuring it. The measurements in the chart below are taken with the shirt laying on a flat surface. To get the length, measure from the high shoulder point down to the bottom of the shirt. To get the width, measure approximately 1-inch below the armhole, across the chest, from seam to seam. While our tees are all made using premium, pre-shrunk, ring-spun cotton, there can be some shrinkage depending on your personal wash and dry cycles. With that said, if you’re on the fence, we always suggest going up a size. All sizes are provided in inches! Please note that variations in sizing of up to 1.5 inches are possible.
