Design Description C.W. McCall’s “Convoy” became a pop-culture phenomenon when it reached No. 1 on both the pop and country charts in January 1976. Telling the story of truckers communicating by CB radio as they rebelled against the new federally mandated 55-mph speed limit, the song arrived at the height of America’s CB craze and sold more than two million copies. Midland quickly tapped into its popularity with the Convoy Buddy, a 4-watt CB radio marketed to McCall fans. It might not have carried a signal from New Jersey all the way to Omaha like the truckers in the song, but it was a capable little radio wrapped in some irresistible Convoy marketing. The craze got another boost in 1978 with the release of Sam Peckinpah’s Convoy, a movie inspired by McCall’s hit. McCall recorded a new version of the song tailored to the events of the film, helping revive interest in both “Convoy” and CB culture—and giving those Convoy Buddy radios another moment in the spotlight. We recommend taking one of your current t-shirts, laying it flat and measuring it. The measurements in the chart below are taken with the shirt laying on a flat surface. To get the length, measure from the high shoulder point down to the bottom of the shirt. To get the width, measure approximately 1-inch below the armhole, across the chest, from seam to seam. While our tees are all made using premium, pre-shrunk, ring-spun cotton, there can be some shrinkage depending on your personal wash and dry cycles. With that said, if you’re on the fence, we always suggest going up a size. All sizes are provided in inches! Please note that variations in sizing of up to 1.5 inches are possible.
