This bolt of beautiful homespun European linen dates from the mid to late 1800's. ~~ This wonderful fabric is a hand loomed, and is a lovely pale linen. ~ This bolt has a lovely floppy feel that is somewhat coarse and almost stiff, this bolt is densely and finely woven! Gorgeous texture! This fabric is a medium weight linen with a lovely plain weave. Originally this fabric would have been for household use for sheeting or clothing fabric. This bolt is ideal for window treatments, table runners, pillows, upholstery etc! This could also be dyed for a beautiful effect! Machine washable over and over and over ~*~ ~ Wonderfully high quality. I love knowing these linens were grown without the use of pesticides, just lovely natural fabric. ~*~ *~ ( EL468 )
MEASUREMENTS : This bolt measures about 17.5 inches wide by 15.88 yards long.
CONDITION : This gorgeous textile is in as found, unwashed condition. This piece could use a wash! There are storage dirt marks all through this length, mostly on one side. There are also some small splotchy gray marks (please see photos) and small rust stains and I am not sure they will wash out fully. There are occasional thin blue threads woven into the body of this length from the hand of an inexperienced weaver. Generally amazing unwashed condition!!! Ideal for rustic, timeworn, or natural interiors. All condition reflected in the price!
