Gorgeous Farmhouse Upcycled Grain Sacks make the most amazing bolster pillows, and it couldn't be more simple!!! Gorgeous Farmhouse Upcycled Grain Sacks make the most amazing bolster pillows, and it couldn't be more simple!!! I just stuffed them with a king size pillow and called it done! ( pillow not included in these purchase, I just wanted to show you how I use them in my own home ~*~ ) These textiles are antique, hand woven linen ( and sometimes the addition of wool or cotton) grain sacks. This set dates from the late 1800'. For more information about these fabulous antique and vintage grain sacks including their rich history and creative ways to use them in your home, please visit our “Grain Sack Uses” page on our website at www.textiletrunk.com/grain-sack-uses. I'm truly obsessed with these textiles. I have them in every room in my house.
Uses: - Table Runners - Console runners - Area rugs - Pillow fabrics - Upholstery fabrics - Placemats (simply cut the runner) - Curtaining fabric - Decorative art - Bottom of the bed decorative touch -bathmat ~ hemp is naturally mold and mildew resistant
Specifics: - Hand woven linen and wool - Made from a grain sack c. late 1800s. - Hand wash warm (or machine gentle), normal detergent with fabric softener, hang to dry OR dry clean . They can be machine washed on gentle cold. - Approximately 20 inches wide by 40 inches long. - Heavyweight, plain weave. - Texture is dense and nubby textural wool (I like to wash with Fabric softener as it adds a softer hand) - Edges are both hand stitched and cut/raw (unhemmed). - Please see photos for colors.
Condition: These textiles are freshly laundered and ready to go! Each one has pale marks that didn't wash. They have patches etc! These sacks are ideal for anyone that loves the signs of time and use, but not ideal for anyone needing a perfect condition textile ~ signs of time and use are inherent in these magical textiles ( and one of my favorite things about them! :) ( condition reflected in the price)
There are SO many possibilities of use for these textiles. You can follow our instructional video available on our website www.textiletrunk.com under the page "Grain Sack Uses."
