This lovely French chemise dates from the mid 1800s and is a gorgeous heavy material! Beautiful natural antique white tones and very sturdy material!! This textile was made to be worn under clothing, to bed and for work wear. There is a monogram in red of LB on this chemise. This piece has some beautiful details, including a beautiful contrast collar and some amazing gathering at the back of the neck and at the wrists. Despite some staining, (see condition details) this piece is in great condition for use or as design inspiration!~*~ I have many hundreds (thousands!) of wonderful French work wear in stock!! ~*~ ~*~
MEASUREMENTS : This textile measures approx. 38 inches long. The sleeves measure 19 inches from the shoulder to the cuff. From shoulder to shoulder, this piece is 21 inches. The chest is approx. 40 inches . 42 inches around at the waist ~
CONDITION : This is in as found, not freshly laundered condition ~ This chemise does have some staining, as you can see in the photos! I am not sure whether they would wash out or not. There is also a nickel sized stain under the monogram on the front. There are a few burrs in the natural fabric, but they are not at risk of tearing. All the seams remain strong, so this piece could be worn with no issue! As with all textiles of this age, there are signs of time and use, but this chemise has many years left in it!
