A charming antique French quilt, dating c 1900~ this quilt uses a lovely floral fabric , heavy weight with charming pattern!! The colors include : ground tone of a very faded, pale khaki green tone, with pinks, reds and neutral tones ~*~ This quilt is hand stitched and uses what I think is a very thick cotton batting! I've chosen to leave this quilt is as found, unwashed condition as I believe it should be dry cleaned only to stop the batting from bunching up! ~ it may well be OK to machine wash, however I just can't be sure ! The backing is a wonderful gold tone of heavy weight cotton ~*~
MEASUREMENTS : This lovely textile measures approx. 60 inches by approx. 85 inches
CONDITION : This quilt is in as found, not freshly laundered condition. . there are some small marks on the front that may not fully clean ~The backing has some little threads so perhaps it was once valanced on the sides ?~ There is a large patch in one corner ( please see photographs) ~*~ Ideal for anyone that adores the signs of time and use often inherent in these wonderful textiles ~*~
