Offered for your consideration is this antique American Cast Iron Tea Kettle. I have not seen another like this before and have found none in my research. If you can shed any light on this it will be appreciated. This is a very heavy kettle with a wooden bail and a very unusual raised bell on the lid. Possibly Bell Telephone's emblem?  There was some interior rust and some rusting to the spout and exterior when we found it and it has since been oiled. Still  it is in very nice shape with some edge wear to the spout with a strong bottom, sides, spout, lid and catches for the handle and normal antique wear. I believe it to be a very old kettle as it is so heavy weighing in at 16 1/2 pounds, nice casting and metal work and also because of the unusual well done bell on the lid. I have found no marking on it.The kettle measures 7 1/8" tall not counting the bail and 8" in diameter. An unusual fine cast piece!
