Description:

An unusual world map that shows California as an island, the north west coast of America missing and rudimentary forms of Australia and New Zealand. Tucked into the cusps of the double hemisphere map is a depiction of the earth as it would be seen from space, with the oceans were drained of water. In the bottom left corner is native of America sitting beside the head of a warrior who has been speared through the neck. In the bottom right corner is a native of Africa viewing a herd of elephants. The goddess Abundantia is shown at the bottom, center, beside a cornucopia.

Condition: Very good. The bottom left corner, outside of the plate mark, has been strengthened. Folds as given. Full margins. This engraving is ready for framing.
