I have an exceptional and unique piece of K98K (K98) rear sight!
S/S marked (fancy S & regular S) from the bottom of rear sight base!
K166 and K167 marked on the left side of rear sight base!
Ö/37 marked (unique box Ö/37 acceptance) with R in the circle and K above that on the "kurvenstuck" part of rear sight
WaA63 on the kurvenstuck spring
WaA77 on the sight slider
K166 & K167 marked could be early "pre-adoption" stamps by Mauser factory.
You see this is really exceptional piece! Sight slider is probably marked with WaA77 on the righ side, and also caries N from the front side and 37&49 from behind of the slider. WaA63 on the kurvenstuck spring plus it carries other numerical markings you can see on the photo.
I've never seen anything like this before! Is this real SS made K98K rear sight base? Or that S/S code is Manufacturer and inspector symbol? R & Ö/37 acceptance? Also no idea...
As a Militaria collector you probably know that this is not just standard K98 rear sight. This is one exceptional piece of history!
Those small pitting on sight seems like it could be blood pitting so this thing seen some war for sure!
This is complete sight with setscrew in very good condition considering it survived WWII.
I don't have to tell you how rare is this item. 100% genuine!
It is worth having such an item for any Militaria collector in the world!

You will get an exact item from the photo! One small piece of WWII history! So I really can't accept any returns because nothing can be broken on this item. Militaria rifle stuff is not an average China electronics stuff that could be easily broken. So once you buy it, you'll have it in your possession until the end of time...
