Antique Hand-painted Japanese Screen 4-panel Seasons 1674-1728 FREE Ship.
Beautiful antique hand-painted Japanese screen.
Depicts the four seasons of the year. Artwork is done in black ink on rice paper background with brocade border.
Comes complete with the original receipt from the prior owner, which indicates that it was purchased in December of 1966 from a company called “Ushida Woodblock Printing Co., Ltd.” located in Kyoto, Japan.
The artwork measure 8 3/4 x 12 1/4 (in.). Dimensions, including the frame, when completely extended are approximately 43 1/4” x 15 1/2”.
There are no inscriptions or markings of any kind on the screens themselves so I have relied on the original receipt and certificate of antiquity to help describe the screen.
The certificate indicates that it was produced between 1674 and 1728 which would have been about 250 years before the date of purchase. However, the certificate says 150 years so I believe that is a typo.
Condition: screens show some toning and foxing consistent with age. The outer face of the screen, has a couple of punched through areas which do not affect the artwork.
Shipping: Free shipping to lower 48 states, tracked and insured.
Will be carefully packaged and shipped immediately following payment.
