Up for sale today is this Antique 1892 Sheffield England Sterling Silver Cased Carving Set. The set is very nice looking with fine engraving on the blade and top of fork. Each piece also has the Sheffield Crown, Passant Lion (Sterling Silver Mark) and the letter Z for the date (1892). There is also a makers mark H. G. The handles look to be Ivory. Both handles do have shrinkage cracks close to the entire length of the handle (see pics). Knife measures 12" long with a 7.5" blade and the fork measures 9.5" long with a 5" from neck to point. The original case is intact but only a small portion is still hinged. Nice antique set for a fair price.
