THE POETRY THEY TRIED TO BAN

THIS BOOK IS A GRAPHIC NOVEL DEPICTION OF ALLEN GINSBERG'S HOWL, the poem written in the 1950s that survived attempts by the authorities to be have it banned under obscenity laws and that subsequently became the most read poem in America in the 20th Century. Singer, song-writer and poet Bob Dylan said that Ginsberg was . . ."probably the greatest influence on American poetical voice since Whitman".

In 2010, Howl was featured in a motion picture with Ginsberg's friend and collaborator Eric Drooker doing the very distinctive animation that captured the mood of the work. Art from the movie is included in this book.
