DESCRIPTION

A group of three volumes from the Medieval Towns series published by J. M. Dent, concerned with the histories of European towns. 

Comprising the following:

Third edition of The Story of Assisi by Lina Duff Gordon. Illustrated with numerous plates and in-text illustrations by Nelly Erichsen and M. Helen James. Bound without the city plan. 

Third edition of The Story of Siena and San Gimignano by Edmund Gardner, illustrated by Helen M. James. With a frontispiece and ten full page plates as well as numerous further plates throughout. Complete with city plan. 

Later printing of The Story of Florence, revised edition. Written by Edmund G Gardner with illustrations by Nelly Erichson. Complete with city plan.




CONDITION

In the original publisher's uniform full cloth bindings with gilt tooling to spine and boards. Externally very smart with minor shelf wear, bumped to head and tail of spine, darkening to back strip. Previous ownership ink inscription to front free endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Light minor spotting to first and last few leaves, pages otherwise generally bright and clean.
