This is my personal MacBook Pro 8,1 (Late 2011) purchased around March 2012 new.  It is in good condition with very minor scratches or dings, still looks great.  In 2017, the following hardware was replaced: new hard drive, track pad, memory, and DVD/CD player.  Seldomly used since 2017.  It's ready set up fresh from factory reset and macOS Catalina installed. It can also run Windows 10 on it with BootCamp utility built into the macOS Catalina software (included).  Comes with working power supply.  Nice replacement for your current usage, collection, or hobby!
