From 1998 - 2000, the US Postal Service released a 10 sheet series called "Celebrate the Century.  This was a limited-edition set of commemorative stamps highlighting the most significant people, events, and accomplishments of the 20th century.  A page was created for each decade, with the final sheet, the 1990's, issued on January 12, 2000.

The 32c stamp pictured here is from the 1900's collection - the Teddy Bear.  This popular soft toy in the form of a bear was developed simultaneously by toymakers Morris Michtom in the US and Richard Steiff in Germany in the early years of the 20th century.  Although he hated the moniker, the toy was named after President Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt.

It is mounted in a 4 by 4 inch wood frame. Please indicate if you prefer walnut or black. If no color chosen, walnut will be sent.

A bit more history: The United States Post Office issued its first stamp on July 1, 1847. Since that time, over 5000 stamps have been released. Each stamp is given its own identification number called a Scott Number. This stamp has been designated as Scott Number 3182k.
