Very rare large photograph of a service station and adjoining lumber & coal business in Perth, North Dakota. Perth is a virtual ghost town in north central ND near the Canadian border. Founded in 1897, the population of 2010 general census was a mere 9 people. Tiny and all but abandoned, this picture shows a rather different era. Writing on face and reverse identifies this place as a garage belonging to an individual named C. J. Berg. We’ve found him later in and around Barnsville, Minnesota.

Exact date will be hard to determine. This was a Ford garage so there is decent signage on the facade. Photo has faded some but this is an awesome shot. Actual photo is 8 by 10, while cardboard material is 14 by 12. Absolutely incredible piece of Americana.
