This is a luxurious & tough American Ghurka bag in rare Derby Plaid and chestnut leather, as Ghurka made a limited number of them. This Ghurka duffel bag was made during the Marley Hodgson era, in style No. 98, "The Cavalier III," in 1992.
"Fold-end design opens to allow extra room and ease in packing. Ends secure with brass shackles; includes a detachable, adjustable leather shoulder strap. The shoulder strap is adjustable, lined in canvas fabric; the duffel meets most airline industry standards as a carry-on.
Sturdy, handsome, and roomy best describe the Cavalier II. Ends secure with brass shackle hooks. It makes a great overnight - weekend bag and carry-on. 22" long (fastened)."

Founded in Connecticut in 1975 by luxury belt and brace designer Marley Hodgson, Ghurka has served as a symbol of superior American leather craftsmanship for over thirty years.
The origins of the Ghurka brand can be traced back to a fortuitous discovery at a British auction house in the early 1970s. Hodgson, inspired by his love of history and leather craft, bid on campaign travel gear and leather boots formerly owned by a British Ghurka officer stationed in India at the turn of the 20th century. He was so impressed by the quality of the nearly century-old leather – durable, yet supple despite its age – and by the intricate craftsmanship that he was compelled to launch a line of comparable leather accessories. Hodgson tracked down the lost tanning formula for these boots and other accouterments carried by the legendary Ghurka regiments and applied the manufacturing process to his new collection ".
