About these stamps: In 1993, the USPS issued a block of 4 stamps commemorating Classic Children's Literature.  The stamps portray scenes from the books Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm, Little House on the Prairie, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, and Little Women. 

A bit more history: The United States Post Office issued its first stamp on July 1, 1847.  Since that time, over 5000 stamps have been released. Each stamp is given its own identification number called a Scott Number. These stamps have been designated as Scott Number 2788a.
