An uncommon item, a German produced catalogue for an exhibition of the paintings of the acclaimed German painter, designer and typographer Willi Baumeister (1889 -1955), which was held at The Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam between 25 May and 25 June 1956 (an earlier exhibition was held at The Institute of Contemporary Arts in Dover Street, London between 23 February and 7 April).  The cover of the catalogue is designed by award-winning German painter and draughtsman Joseph Fassbender (1903 - 1974).



'Willi Baumeister : Schilderijen - Een tentoonstelling van de Duitse Kunstraad ' published by Eggebrecht Press in Mainz in advance of the start of the exhibition in May 1956, 1st edition, small fold-out booklet in wraps, wraps measure 7in by just under 6in, unpaginated (16 pages).  Cover design by Joseph Fassbender, b&w photographs by Dr. Salchow of Cologne.  A brief introduction by Sandberg and then a short essay by German art historian/critic Will Grohmann.



In overall near very good condition, no inscriptions, pages are generally clean and tidy save for some very light wear, general edge and corner wear to wrappers, which are toned at the edges.

Postage – All of my books are triple wrapped for delivery to maximise their safety - firstly in bubble wrap protection, secondly in either a padded envelope or a cardboard box, and finally in thick parcel paper.
 
For UK mainland - all items above a fairly modest value I will send via either signed for Royal Mail and/or courier options whichever is the best, this being largely dependent on the weight of the object. 
 
I am more than happy to post overseas on the basis that all items will be posted by Airmail with a signature required on delivery.  If you are overseas, please feel free to enquire about postage charges ahead of registering a bid if you are unsure of the cost I may have outlined above, where costs may be prohibitive depending upon where you are in the world and the weight of the item, many thanks.
