Number three-hundred and nine of one-thousand two-hundred and fifty Limited Edition copies of this work produced.

Edited by Geoffrey Keynes, who began his career as a First World War surgeon, before making notable innovations in the fields of blood transfusion and breast cancer surgery. He was also a publishing scholar and bibliographer of English literature and English medical history, focusing primarily on William Blake and William Harvey.

Famed diarist John Evelyn began this work at the age of eighty-four, when his grandson, also names John Evelyn, was twenty-two years old, and intended in this charming and brief memoir to provide advice 'offered by Age and Experience to Youth'.


CONDITION

In the publisher's original limp paper vellum. Externally, lovely, with light marks to boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright.
