Officially Licensed US Navy VFA-22 Fighting Redcocks Stickers — Over 75 Years of Dropping Ordnance and Taking Names

Callsign "Beef." Tail code NA. And over 415,000 pounds of freedom delivered during Enduring Freedom alone.

Strike Fighter Squadron 22 — the Fighting Redcocks — is one of the most decorated and combat-proven squadrons in United States Navy history. Originally established as Fighter Squadron 63 (VF-63) at NAS Norfolk, Virginia on July 27, 1948, the squadron has operated under four different designations across more than seven decades: VF-63, VA-63, VA-22, and finally VFA-22 as of May 4, 1990. Based at NAS Lemoore, California, the Redcocks currently fly the twin-seat F/A-18F Super Hornet as part of Carrier Air Wing 17. Over the course of their storied history, the squadron has flown ten different airframes — from the F8F Bearcat and F4U Corsair to the F9F Panther, A-4 Skyhawk, A-7 Corsair II, and every variant of the Hornet and Super Hornet. The Redcocks saw nine combat deployments across the Korean and Vietnam Wars, participated in Operation Praying Mantis in the Persian Gulf, enforced no-fly zones during Operation Southern Watch, and led Carrier Air Wing 11's only strike during Operation Desert Fox in 1998. In October 2001, flying from USS Carl Vinson, VFA-22 was among the first squadrons to strike Taliban and Al Qaeda targets in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom, delivering more ordnance than any other Navy squadron during that period. The Fighting Redcocks have earned five Battle Efficiency "E" awards — including an unprecedented three consecutive years from 1979 to 1981 — the RADM Clarence Wade McClusky Award as the Navy's best attack squadron, multiple Meritorious Unit Commendations, and were the first west coast squadron to employ the AGM-88 HARM missile and the first to deploy with the AIM-120 AMRAAM. This sticker carries over 75 years of naval aviation excellence on a single piece of vinyl.

Perfect For: VFA-22 Fighting Redcocks veterans and active duty, F/A-18F Super Hornet crews, CVW-17 and NAS Lemoore personnel, USS Carl Vinson and USS Ronald Reagan alumni, and anyone who's ever flown or maintained under the Redcocks banner.
