***MAJOR COLLECTOR'S PERRY ELLIS FROM HIS PERSONAL FAVORITE COLLECTION***
Perhaps Perry Ellis's most famous, notable collection was his Spanish inspired collection for Spring 1983. The husband of Perry Ellis's daughter described the Spring 1983 collection as "the most poetic" and even used the fabric from a striped skirt in the collection as the lining for his wedding suit to Miss Tyler Alexandra Ellis.
The collection as a whole is incredibly modern. This sweater vest epitomizes Perry Ellis's fondness for knitwear. He famously said that "there's a lot of love in a hand knit sweater."
The front and back panels of this vest both feature one, thick cable knit on each side. The process to seamlessly integrate a cable knit alongside a classic, small knit was so intricate and challenging that Perry Ellis literally reinvented the wheel when it came to luxury knitwear.
The silk blend fabric is a dark tan at its base but it is marled and there are flecks of red and deep green. It's perfectly neutral.
This sweater vest was styled as a top on the runway, worn by itself and belted in the middle with a thick belt. It can be worn the same way, or styled as a layering piece. Two very small pockets at the hip.
