Buffer Retainer Lock lets you easily remove and install AR buffer and buffer spring, as well as lock buffer retainer in place so you don`t lose it while the buffer is removed. Especially handy when you are running a flat wire buffer spring, which tend to get stuck on the buffer retainer when inserting or removing.
Pull out the takedown pin, align Buffer Retainer Lock on top of the buffer retainer and safety selector, push down while holding buffer with your thumb and lock using the takedown pin.
Buffer Retainer Lock + Pivot Pin Tool in addition to the original function, makes it much easier to install and remove pivot pin spring and detent. No more crawling around the room trying to find the spring that just flew out of your hands :)
Align Pivot Pin Tool with the detent spring hole, insert spring and detent, push the detent in using punch tool or similar object, rotate Pivot Pin Tool 90 degrees to keep detent spring depressed, carefully push Pivot Pin Tool out with the pivot pin while making sure the detent does not escape.
Bonus feature: push take down pin out with the back end of the Spring-It™ Buffer Retainer Lock + Pivot Pin Tool.
