About these stamps:
In 1970, to honor the 100th anniversary of the American Museum of Natural History, the US Post Office issued a series of four 6c commemorative stamps.  The one shown here is The Age of Reptiles from Jurassic Period.  The dinosaurs shown ar the Brontosaurus, Stegosaurus, and Allosaurus.

A bit more history: The United States Post Office issued its first stamp on July 1, 1847. Since that time, over 5000 stamps have been released. Each stamp is given its own identification number called a Scott Number. This stamp has been designated as Scott Number 1390.
