Written by Maria Edgeworth and her father Richard Lovell Edgeworth, 'Practical Education' is a treatise on education which takes a scientific approach to the subject. 

Edgeworth combines the ideas of the philosophers John Locke and Rousseau, as well as the reformers William Godwin and Catharine Macaulay.

Maria Edgeworth was a leading Georgian author, known for her novels such as 'Belinda', with her admirers including Jane Austen.


CONDITION

In the original paper covered boards. Externally, large tide mark to the front board. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Marks to the boards and spine, including an ink number to the spine. Spine is a little age-toned with a small amount of loss to the tail. Tide mark to the front endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very lightly age-toned and generally clean with a few light spots, and a faint tide mark to the head of the title page.
