DESCRIPTION

An important seventeenth-century nativity hymn, On the Morning of Christ's Nativity, written by noted poet and writer John Milton. The hymn contains many depictions of Christ's incarnation and his defeat of pagan powers. 

Including six beautiful facsimile reproductions of illustrations by William Blake. 

Collated and complete. 

Blake originally drew and painted sixteen illustrations for Milton's On the Morning of Christ's Nativity early in the nineteenth century.

Including a note by Geoffrey Keynes.


CONDITION

In the publisher's original quarter cloth binding, with paper covered boards. Externally, very smart, with just some light shelf wear and bumping to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. A few light spots to the pages, which are otherwise bright and clean.
