A marquetry work by Yuta Shimizu of "Luthier," a studio specializing in marquetry in Hakone, Japan.
In addition to the delicate beauty of the traditional craft of yosegi-zaiku, in which various types of wood are combined and arranged, the charm of this work is that it has a somewhat modern atmosphere.
As the piece is used more and more, each grain of the wood takes on a different appearance and develops a deeper flavor. The warmth and natural texture of the different wood materials match perfectly with the leather of the Traveler's notebook. As it is used daily, it will change over time and its color will change.
