DESCRIPTION
The Baroness de Bode 1775-1803 contains letters addressed by the Baroness to her English relatives after the fief in Alsace which Baron de Bode held was swept away by the French revolution and the family had to take refuge in Germany. The letters afford striking glimpses of feudalism in France.

CONDITION
In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, very smart with some light bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Internally, firmly bound with bright pages with some very light scattered spots to the first few pages. Some pages remain unopened.
