Designed to help with

  • Compression of the thorax (chest) and rib cage, helping relieve discomfort in cases of rib fractures and dislocation.
  • Post-surgical care following hiatal hernia surgery.
  • Stabilisation of sternum (breastbone) fractures.
  • Reducing discomfort from sudden rib cage expansion during deep breaths, coughing, or sneezing while recovering.
  • Post cardiothoracic surgery care — including broken or cracked ribs.
  • Easing the process of clearing phlegm from the lungs after surgery, which may otherwise contribute to infectious lung pleurisy and other complications.

Features

  • Lightweight, thin construction — helps improve comfort and ease of wear.
  • Ethafoam pad — can be positioned at the fracture site to enhance splinting and support of the fractured ribs.
  • Porous webbing — improves ventilation and overall comfort.
  • Broad hook-and-loop panel — offers secure holding and flexible sizing.
  • Special nylon reeves — prevent the belt from rolling over during wear.

Construction

  • Made from superior-quality elastic webbing with a high degree of porosity, incorporating heat-resistant rubber with a high modulus of elasticity for long-lasting compression without loosening.
  • Hook-and-loop closure ensures a proper, snug fit around the thorax, good immobilisation, and easy application and removal.
