What an absolutely beautiful antique woven blanket! This herringbone weave textile from France dates from sometime between the late 1700s - mid 1800s ~ it's extremely high quality! This textile is a heavyweight, hand woven pure hemp textile. It is softly worn and more loosely woven, giving it a wonderful texture and a floppy feel! The hemp yarns used in the weaving of this piece are slubby so it gives beautiful variation in the weave and nubbiness of the blanket's texture... just gorgeous! There are two seams running the length of this piece, as it was made by hand stitching together three separate hand woven panels. It's a lovely warm oatmeal tone - a warm soft sand color with a light caramel stripe at one end! ~*~ This beautiful piece weighs 3.5 pounds - it's gorgeous to use as a blanket or throw, but could be deconstructed too... there is so much fabulous fabric for projects such as a rustic set of curtains, a shower curtain, upholstery, pillows, bedding, etc. I use these French linen sheets in every room of my house! This textile can be machine washed and tumbled dry and just gets better and better over time!

MEASUREMENTS: This wonderful textile measures approximately 51 inches wide by 77 inches long

CONDITION: This lovely piece has been freshly laundered and is ready to use! There are some places along the edges that have some thread loss, a few small holes and one very small hole in the center, as well as a hole in one corner. The ends are raw, so have a lovely frayed and rustic look. It's generally in lovely condition - the signs of time and use present on this textile only add to its charm! A lovely piece, perfect for any rustic farmhouse interior!
