In 1982, on the 100th anniversary of his birth, a 20-cent commemorative stamp honoring Franklin Delano Roosevelt was issued at his birthplace, Hyde Park, New York.  The 32nd president of the United States, he was the only one to be elected four times.  He took office during the height of the Depression in March 1933 and died one month before the end of World War II in Europe in 1945.  The stress of the Depression, the War, and his battle with polio cut his life short to only 63 years.

This rather unique square stamp is housed in a 4 inch by 4 inch wood frame.  Please indicate what color you prefer:  walnut or black.   If not specified, walnut will be sent.

A bit more history: The United States Post Office issued its first stamp on July 1, 1847. Since that time, over 5000 stamps have been released. Each stamp is given its own identification number called a Scott Number. This stamp has been designated as Scott Number 1950.
