Hello hello and welcome to TwoBitBuys!! Today we have for sale this wonderful 1st edition copy of, Wanderer, by Sterling Hayden. This book does not have the dust jacket and there are some minor discoloration of the cover.

The compass embossed on the cover is phenomenal while the gold gilding on the spine is a little faded but still will draw an eye as it finds a home in your library.

The cloth like cover is of a dark blue hue and shows very minor wear. The deckled edges of the pages show quality book binding, and one can see that this book has been loved and cared for. One can hear the crisp sounds of the “newness” of the high quality manufacturing of this tome. There are no writing, library stamps, or visible water marks present upon examination.

I’m just an enthusiast and no way near a professional, but I give this book a Fine rating.

Truly a bibliophile’s found treasure.

A NOTE ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

“Sterling Hayden was born in Montclair, New Jersey, and received his elementary education in the public schools there. After residence in a number of towns up and down the Atlantic seaboard, and after a short term in a tutoring school in Maine, he ran away to sea (1933) -and to a life of self-education.

For seven years he followed the sea, eventually receiving master's papers in sail. In 1940 he gave up the sea for motion pictures, but left film work a year later to serve in World War II. Until he left the United States in 1959 on the voyage described in this book, he was active in films and television. Mr. Hayden lives in the San Francisco Bay area with his wife and seven children.”
