#8 Turnout Switch Track - Right Hand Remote

This turnout is brand new, never used, never opened.   

Atlas N Scale Code 80 Right Remote #8 Turnout  -   Black Ties and Nickel Silver Rails.   

These turnouts have a remote control switch machine attached so you can wire the switch to be "thrown" (changing the direction of the rail), from your control panel rather than from the switch itself.  Remote control turnouts include the Atlas #56 Switch Control Box and the necessary amount of screws.

What is the difference between standard and #8 turnouts?   The difference is the angle at which the curved piece of track splits from the straight piece.  The rails of the Standard Turnouts split at a sharper angle than the #8 turnouts, creating a sharper curve.  Therefore, Standard turnouts work better in smaller spaces and the #8 turnouts work better for longer locomotives and rail cars that require a larger radius.
