RARE Antique 1918 Military WWI M1905 Bayonet w/ Orig. Sheath

Up for your consideration is a nice RARE Antique 1918 Military WWI M1905 Bayonet w/ Original Sheath. Bayonet is solid with no wiggle in the blade or handle and cosmetically it is still in very nice condition with very little corrosion & evidence of pitting on the blade. Markings on the blade, as can be seen in the photos, include R.I.A. (Rock Island Arsenal) 1918. On the opposite side of the blade it is marked with the notation U.S. 335170. Inspection revealed no known nicks, chips, etc. in the blade.  Blade is designed with the highly desired & eye catching 'blood groove' that runs down both sides of the blade for 12 1/2". Bayonet has a nice wooden handle with working locking mechanism. Included with this lot is the original leather & metal sheath that was issued with this bayonet back in the day. Sheath is in good condition with minor age cracking and scratching.  For additional information regarding item's overall condition, please see the photos attached. Bayonet Dimensions (including handle) - Length 20 1/2", Blade Length 15 3/4" x Width 1". Sheath Length 16 3/4" x Width 1 3/4". 

History - The Model of 1905 bayonet was originally made for the U.S. M1903  Springfield Rifle according to DBpedia. This designation was changed to Model 1905 in 1917, and then to M1905 in 1925, when the army adopted the M designation nomenclature. The M1905 bayonet also fits the U.S. M1 Garand Rifle.
