Nothing beats Ranunculus flowers to add that dash of whimsy and romance to the garden.
Candy pink coloured
tight clustered flowers not only look lovely, but combine
beautifully with so many other plants, flower bulbs and perennials.
Ranunculus flowers are also excellent cut flowers.
Also known as the
Persian buttercup these pretty pink Ranunculus have fully double flowers
with tightly clustered petals.
Each stem produces one to several
flowers.
They will grow equally well in full sun or partial shade.
Ranunculus are ground-hardy in warmer areas and can be planted in the autumn between September and December for flowers in early spring or in the spring when the danger of frost has passed, usually between March and June for flowers in late summer.
Blooms: June - August
Flower colour: PINK
Full grown height: 25 - 40 cm
Plant location: sunny or part shade
Soil requirements: any well drained soil
Like many other flower bulbs ranunculus demand that the soil has adequate drainage. If water pools in the area where you are planting ranunculus corms, it will most likely lead to the corms rotting. Ranunculus do not grow well in wet soil. Poorly drained soil is a common reason for Ranunculus failure.
Ranunculus corms have pointed ends that look a lot like claws. Make sure these “claw-ends” are facing down as you plant them
