DESCRIPTION

First edition.

In the original price-clipped dustwrapper.

'Short of Glory' is Judd's satirical fiction novel, which was loosely inspired by his own life as a diplomat. In this novel, the main protagonist Patrick Stubbs is posted as third secretary in the British Embassy in Lower Africa. Chaotic events ensue which involve a professor, a 'bullying first secretary', and the police chief's wife.

Alan Judd, otherwise known as Alan Edwin Petty, is a former soldier and diplomat who now works as a security analyst and novelist. He also contributes quite a few articles to publications such as The Daily Telegraph and the Spectator.

Collated, complete.

CONDITION

In the publisher's original cloth binding, in the original price-clipped dust wrapper. Externally, very smart. A bit of wear to the extremities as well as the head and tail of spine, as well as a couple of marks to the boards. The dust wrapper has some edge wear that has resulted in a few small closed tears to the spine edge and rear wrap. There are two tape repairs for these closed tears to the reverse. A bit of discolouration to reverse of wraps and fly leaves. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout.
