Complete with the folding map bound to the rear of the work; map is torn, with some of the edges lost and a large amount of loss to the top of the map affecting the image. The folding frontispiece of the gorilla is present, however lacking the upper half of the illustration depicting the body and head of the gorilla.
Illustrated with twenty-six plates, the folding map, the remains of the folding frontispiece, and vignette engravings throughout the text. Collated, complete.

CONDITION
Rebacked, with the publisher's original spine and boards laid down. Externally generally smart, with the occasional mark tot he boards. Loss to the head and wear to the tail of the original spine. Extremities are a little bumped. Ownership bookplate to the front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with just the odd mark. Original map and folding frontispiece are both torn and with loss affecting the image.
