Author's presentation copy, with inscription, "from the author" to front free endpaper.
Sermons include "Happiness of the Man That Findeth Wisdom", "The Ambition of the Sons of Zebedee Reproved" and "The Word of God, the Source of Light".
With an appendix written as a memorial to the author's son, who died aged 13, one year before the publication of this book.
Matthew Morris Preston (1781 - 1858) was vicar of Cheshunt for more than thirty years, and a late fellow of Trinity College, Cambridge.
CONDITION
In a cloth binding. Externally, very smart with slight bumping to head and tail of spine. Internally, firmly bound. Generally bright with foxing to many pages.
