Rare WMF Art Nouveau Silver plated Curling Tongs Heater / Spirit Stove.

Presented in a beautiful embossed case.

Fully Hallmarked, Antler Mark, Running Ostrich, Oxidised and 1/0 .

Circa 1903

Here we have a very rare and original antique Art Nouveau Silver plated curling tong heater / spirit stove, cased in a beautiful lidded oval box, fitted with a spirit receptacle and wick, which has never been used.

The Box has floral , foliate ornaments and a cartouche with a putti drinking from a goblet.

The box is fully stamped with the running ostrich, Antler mark which means best quality, 1/0 and oxidised, plus the spirit stove is also stamped with the Antler mark and 1/0, a beautiful piece of work from one of the best metalware companies in the world, WMF.

A very rare collectors Item.

Excellent condition.

As far as I can see only 2 very small micro dints , one on the lid the other on the base, very little silver loss if any, Oil burner has never been used , with its original wick.

I have not polished the piece as its excellent condition anyway, plus its a  oxidised finished, so I have left this up to the new owner should they wish more of a shine.
