Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance (Playstation 2 / PS2), complete in box. Condition is very good. Despatched with Royal Mail, signed delivery.
Includes original case, manual and game disc. Items are used but in generally very good condition - there are some sharpie markings on the back of the case and on the manual (see photos), but everything else is very good. Item is untested. There are no major marks or big scratches on the disc so it should play fine.
When it comes to the Mortal Kombat series, everyone knows the first few games with their digitised sprites, palette swap characters and OTT cartoony violence but as the series progressed, titles got lost in a sea of spin-offs, compilations and re-hashes. “Deadly Alliance” comes in the middle of this body of bloody water and it often gets overlooked… but it’s actually a solid entry for the franchise. It’s the first fully 3D Mortal Kombat game, with polygonal fighters and arenas and there are sidesteps and other moves that give the combat depth into the screen. Each character also has a unique move-set, with two or three martial arts styles to switch between, rather than everyone sharing the same basics and only having unique special moves. Unfortunately, this variety and depth does not apply to the finishing moves, with only one fatality per character rather than the four or five of previous games. But there are a bunch of other game modes including Konquest (a series of “training” challenges loosely tied together with an overarching story) and the Krypt (where you spend various in-game currencies to unlock extra characters, stages, costumes and concept art). This was where “Mortal Kombat” really started to step away from its novelty shlock roots and became a more technically sound fighting game and you can waste hours staging epic tournaments in your living room, beating your friends into raspberry jam.
Please note: this is a used game that was originally purchased twenty years ago - it’s not going to be in perfect or nearly new condition due to its age alone. I have been as honest as possible with the description, but note that even “good” or “very good” condition items can show signs of use and age. If you want me to show more photos of the item(s), just ask.
Game is rated 18.
