The Home was built as a summer home in 1790,0ver 135 years ago by John Rowan,a young lawyer of Louisville,Ky. The bricks came from England,were landed at Newport News,Va.and brought to Kentucky on sledges in winter along the Indian trails driven by oxen,driven by slaves.
