This product provides free ventilation until the fuel tank / cell becomes inclined to an angle of more than 90 degrees. In this situation a stainless steel ball (acting under gravitational forces) seals the vent shut preventing fuel from escaping through the ventilation system. This valve has been designed to mount onto the top of the fuel tank / cell. In the case of fuel cells with a top plate, the valve can simply be added to the plate.
Fuel Tank Vent Valves allows the fuel tank to maintain a constant and safe status by minimising build up of pressure and allowing the tank to vent should a vacuum be experienced
When installed the valves are open to atmosphere so vapor can collect inside the vehicle. All installation should be piped to the outside of the vehicle or connected to a charcoal canister. For tarmac vehicles run the pipe to the top of the body and then down to a point just below the base of the tank. The valves should be positioned as close as possible to the rear of the tank so that under braking the fuel load will move towards the front of the tank and away from the valve.
Access to the inside of the tank is required for installation ( with the use of a AN-6 bulkhead nut) unless the tank has a female ORB-6 boss welded onto it.
The mounting hole size is 9/16" (AN-6)
