CHOPARD L.U.C 18 karat Yellow Gold Watch on Leather Strap

A classic Chopard L.U.C 12.96 caliber watch made of 18 karat yellow gold with an original leather strap. Designed by Michel Parmigiani, the model features a white face with gold Arabic numerals on 12, 3, 6 and 9 o’clock, a small seconds feature and a skeleton back. The movement is automatic self-wind.

This unisex watch is equipped with L.U.C 12.96 caliber.

Chopard launched their own watchmaking manufacture in 1993. Right after the launch, the company started to program an original caliber. L.U.C 1.96 was introduced in 1996 and gained a huge success. Professional media called it "probably the finest automatic movement being produced in Switzerland today" and awarded it the "Watch of the Year." L.U.C 1.96 remains in production today and is an amazing example of modern technology. The punctuated abbreviation L. U. C stands for founder Louis Ulysse Chopard. Sometimes it could be spelled as “LUC” and never as “L.U.C.”, so there is something to pay attention to while buying vintage Chopard watch. Chopard Manufacture produces the L.U.C calibers mostly by hands.

This bold minimalist vintage watch is made of 18 karat yellow gold; it carries a Swiss made automatic movement and an original Chopard leather strap.

Serial and reference numbers 1503631 and 115057.
All the watch parts are original Chopard.
This Chopard watch case is 1 9/16" (39 mm) in diameter and ¼” (5 mm) thick. The watch with the original Chopard leather strap measures 9 3/8" x ¾” (23.5 x 1.9 cm) and fits for an up to 8" (20-cm) wrist.
The vintage watch weighs 68.2 grams

About the Brand:
Chopard was initially established in 1860 as a watchmaking brand. Along with the high-end watches, the Swiss company is famous for its luxury jewelry pieces. Meaningful heart-shaped design, floating diamonds and red-carpet fame — those are all the parts of Chopard’s authentic concept. The core of Chopard philosophy is Joie de Vivre and Freedom of Creativity. In 1976 this philosophy led the Maison to create the first watch with free-moving diamonds between crystal glass. “Diamonds are happier when they are free” — this motto goes along the lines with Chopard spirit. The concept of Happy Diamonds works for jewelry as well. Each brand’s piece is made in one of its three production sites. The culture of craftsmanship and quality standards are exemplary high here. For instance, Chopard only uses diamonds with fluorescence between “none” and “faint”. Recently the brand has been following the strict rules of sustainable and ethical jewelry production. Responsibly sourcing diamonds and gold has become a necessity for the brand’s values. The latest update on this matter was Chopard’s promise to make all the gold used to craft their jewelry 100% ethical.
