Because it will allow you to run the bigger 70-80 mm throttlebody found on the 87-93 5.0 Mustang bolt pattern. (see pic for throttlebody design). These years had a snubby style throttle body. Very important that you know what design and year you order!! Please contact us before purchase if you arent sure. This is the fastest and painless way to install bigger Throttlebody to replace that smaller inadequate 2.3 bottleneck of a throttlebody. The snubby version is harder to install because you will need to make your own cable bracket and have more hood clearance for the idle air control. We came out with this version adapter because of the many request that were made. Those people fabricated their own cable setup, hence the reason why this kit no longer comes with the throttle bracket seen in the pics.
